The artist Filippo Tincolini has donated the monumental sculpture
Spaceman to the Fondazione Centro Arti Visive di Pietrasanta, a three-meter-high marble astronaut, immobile like a classical work but
pulsating with the future. A donation that is not only a tribute to the CAV Foundation, but a tribute to the city of Pietrasanta, its history and its artistic vocation.
The Pietrasanta Visual Arts Center Foundation is an organization dedicated to the promotion, enhancement and training in the field of contemporary visual arts, particularly in disciplines linked to the sculptural and artisanal tradition of the territory.
A meeting place between past and present, between established artists and new generations, where matter becomes language.
“Filippo Tincolini’s work is much more than a sculpture — said President Lattanzi — it is a powerful symbol of the bond between art and community, between tradition and future. His generous donation deeply honors us and marks the beginning of a new path of the Fondazione CAV Pietrasanta, made of openness, participation and shared beauty. It is also a beautiful message for the city of Pietrasanta: an invitation to continue to believe in the transformative value of art”. Spaceman is born from the Flowered Soul series, in which Tincolini tells the story of the contrast — and the encounter — between technological man and nature. The astronaut, a symbol of conquest and progress, is crossed by flowers and leaves that emerge from the armor, claiming space, memory and life. In this imposing marble version, the work is transformed into a public sculpture: an icon suspended between heaven and earth, between memory and dream.
It is not just a sculpture - says the artist - but a poetic act. A dedication. A thank you engraved in stone, addressed to a city that has made matter a language and beauty a responsibility". Made possible thanks to the sponsorship of Litix Spa and Henraux Spa, the work is the fruit of a shared vision, made of passion, craftsmanship and collaboration. Spaceman is a contemporary hero who is not armed, but flourished. A monument that invites us to look forward without forgetting where we start from. With this gift, Filippo Tincolini not only enriches the cultural heritage of the CAV Foundation, but signs a gesture that is at the same time poetic, civil and identity-related. A gift to the CAV Foundation and, above all, a gift to Pietrasanta.
