[...] Since 2004, Filippo Tincolini has set up his studio in its current location, on the slopes of the Fantiscritti quarry, in the evocative setting of the Apuan Alps. His is a fully-fledged studio-laboratory, divided into several rooms, each of which is used for a specific phase of marble processing. It was once the site of a workshop where machinery for cutting marble was manufactured; in memory of this initial function for which the space was intended, even today, sometimes, iron shavings appear among the limestone rocks. Today, technology and craftsmanship go hand in hand in an operational context that can be traced back to a Renaissance workshop crowded with workers of all kinds and distinguished by a particular attention to executive expertise [...].
