Filippo Tincolini

Filippo Tincolini is a contemporary Italian sculptor working in the Carrara marble quarries. His work explores the intersection of classical sculptural tradition, technology, and contemporary collective imagery.

Through the use of Carrara marble, digital modeling, and robotic fabrication, Tincolini creates works that function as a form of simulated archaeology — fragments of a future civilization that seems to have already existed.

His research spans multiple series: from the reimagined classical deities of Ancient Gods to the contemporary icons of Nova Idola, from the organic forms of Flowered Soul to the monumental scale of his public installations.

Tincolini's studio is located in Fantiscritti, in the heart of the Carrara marble quarries, where the entire process — from the selection of raw blocks to robotic roughing to hand finishing — takes place in direct dialogue with the mountain.
